In March of 2002, the United Nations Association of the USA partnered with the United Nations Association of Sweden to form Adopt-A-Minefield (Sweden) as the third Partner Campaign. AAM (Sweden) receives strong support from the Swedish government due in part to their commitment to the Mine Ban Treaty. The Swedish team works closely with local UNA-USA chapters as well as other NGOs, companies, churches and schools to raise funds and increase awareness of the landmine issue.
Adopt-A-Minefield is a program of the United Nations Association
of the USA in partnership with the Better World Fund, the United Nations, the U.S. State
Department and other leading mine action organizations around the world.
